Manchester – It’s All Going On

Eating out of home is booming again as we all start to feel that the recession maybe behind us.

There’s something out there to fit any budget and it’s a great social experience.

Burger bars are popping up all over the place.

Manchester is really buzzing at the moment, with new concept dining interacting with social drinking and nightlife in the city.

But if it’s trendy lunches you’re after, there are some big players in town – Michael Caines, Aiden Byrne and Simon Rogan with his own personal slant on modern British and James Martin at 235

Fly into Wings for a different look at Chinese dining or Yuzu, if it’s Japanese that takes your fancy. Local gems such like Fazenda, Volta and Solita are all buzzing away in the Northern Quarter.

Hot stuff is back too with Bollywood Masala and Siam Smiles – it’s all going on.

If it’s steaks, Hawksmoor stands out and try the Albert Square Chop House for stonking good British meat and a lively street bar

It’s the regions though that’s taken my eye with the Lord Clyde in Bollington re-writing pub food. Manchester and the North is leaving London for dead.

Have I missed any gems out?
